Dietitian Winsy is a Registered Dietitian from the United States with a specialist training in Pediatrics. Winsy was granted her Master’s Degree in Clinical Nutrition from the New York University and practiced at the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) and few community hospitals in New York City before moving back to Hong Kong. In Hong Kong, she worked as hospital dietitian in both public and the private sectors.
Winsy is currently works as a Private Practice Dietitian. Being a Pediatric Specialist Dietitian, her major job function is one-on-one diet consultation (from prescription of therapeutic diet menus to tailor made diet plans to best met the patients/clients’ conditions or needs) to infants, children and adolescents. With over 15 years of weight management experience, she frequently sees adult clients who are in need of weight loss or weight gain remedy. Winsy also offers medical nutrition therapy to adult patients.
Winsy’s other job functions include conducting nutrition seminars and talks to the general public and health care professionals, hosting health/nutrition programs in local television and radio stations, responding media interviews in diet-related matters, and writing nutrition articles and books. Winsy is a guest lecturer of nutrition courses at HKU SPACE.
Prior to her involvement in the dietetic industry, Winsy completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmaceutics from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Her final research project was published on the May 2000 issue of Pharmaceutical Research. She has a passion in sharing her research experience and she was a mentor of the Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education to teach the young gifted children in nutritional research.
In service to the medical profession, she was a member of the Executive Committee of the Hong Kong Dietitians Association and is currently a media representative of the Hong Kong Dietitians Association. She is a member of the allied health professional subcommittee of the Hong Kong Institute of Allergy and an honorary dietetic consultant of the Hong Kong Asthma Society.
